RYCO Celebrates Anniversary of Elysee Treaty in Belgrade

BELGRADE – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša and our Local Branch Officer in Serbia Ms Marija Bulat celebrated the 55th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty on Thursday by participating in the reception organized by the ambassadors of France and Germany to Serbia, H.E. Mr Frédéric Mondoloni and H. E. Mr Axel Dittmann.
RYCO Secretary General said that the Elysee Treaty has shown how the reconciliation between the people should look like and pointed out that the leaders of the Western Balkans should use this example for our region. Mr Blanuša added that the reconciliation between young people is one of the most important processes for the region.
Ms Bulat highlighted that RYCO is a milestone of the development of the youth cooperation in the Western Balkans. She added that RYCO was established on 4 July 2017 and pointed out that RYCO received more than 420 applications for the first Open Call which was closed in November last year.
The ambassadors noted that young people of the region have an opportunity to be the leaders of reconciliation in the Western Balkans and promised their full support for the region in fulfilling this process. Moreover, they expressed their support for the European integration process of Serbia and highlighted the importance of RYCO which establishment was based on the experience of the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ/DFJW).
Serbian Minister for European Integration Ms Jadranka Joksimović attended the reception, too.
