PRISTINA – Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Kosovo Ms Krenare Gashi-Krasniqi and RYCO Local Program Officer Mr Ramadan Sokoli met with the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Ambassador Michael Davenport and Head of Democratisation Department of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Mr Childerik Schaapveld on Wednesday, 20 October.
Ms Gashi-Krasniqi and Ambassador Davenport discussed the achieved results and impact of the successful program for young journalists called Peace Broadcasters that started in July and is jointly organized by RYCO and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. The training, which gathered twenty young journalists and students of journalism, focused on strengthening and improving the skills and knowledge of young journalists in Kosovo in the field of intercultural dialogue and transitional journalism.
Moreover, they discussed the upcoming joint local activities. Both parties agreed to continue working closely together by providing civil society organizations, high schools, and youth from Kosovo with more opportunities in the field of reconciliation and intercultural learning and dialogue.
Speaking about the importance of cooperation, Ms Gashi-Krasniqi underlined that the RYCO Local Branch Office in Kosovo is thankful for the continued support of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo since the establishment of RYCO and declared that RYCO Local Branch Office in Kosovo will continue to work closely with the OSCE Mission in Kosovo to empower and support young people.
Ambassador Davenport emphasized that the OSCE Mission in Kosovo is committed to supporting RYCO’s work as well as the local activities planned for 2021, and underlined that RYCO is a key partner for OSCE’s action plan, which has a special focus on youth-related activities.
