The 19th RYCO Governing Board meeting in Tirana

TIRANA 17 July – The nineteenth RYCO Governing Board (GB) meeting took place in Tirana, under the chairmanship of Albania. Minister of State for Youth and Children of Albania Bora Muzhaqi and the Youth Representative (YR) of Albania Klajdi Priska were chairing the meeting, organized in a hybrid format, providing several GB members to attend online via the Zoom platform.

This was the second time that RYCO is being chaired by Albania, its host party, since the organization’s foundation in 2016. As a host, Ms. Muzhaqi welcomed the Governing Board members.

“We will find comfort and resolution in knowing that all the actions and decisions we make today are motivated and tested by the ultimate motive, better serving and advancing the joint interests of our youth,” said Minister Muzhaqi.

Mr. Priska, who was recently elected for YR of Albania, was honored to be the co-chair of the GB meeting.

“My mission is to represent the Albanian youth with dignity and work with all of you to make RYCO better and closer to the mission of its founders and the vision of the youth of the region. We can and will tackle any issue and be responsible so that we provide an example for the politics and for the youth of the region on how to work together and cherish this organization’s values,” said the Albanian Youth Representative.

RYCO Secretary General Albert Hani emphasized that during the working part of the meeting, the GB members approved a series of important documents for RYCO.

“The meeting was very productive and by adopting important documents, the GB enabled RYCO to continue with reforms and strengthen its operational and program part. We can promise to fulfill expectations and work even more in order to make this region better for the youth,” concluded Mr. Hani.

The Governing Board decides on key strategic documents for RYCO and is composed of one government representative for youth policies and one youth representative from each Contracting party, on an equal basis.
