13th Macedonian Scout Jamboree: Reaching New Heights

RYCO supported the Macedonian Scouts Association in organizing the 13th Macedonian Scout Jamboree, which brought together approximately 800 youths from across Europe in Krusevo, North Macedonia, between the 12th and 21st of July.

The Jamboree, a scouting event held every 5 years since the Association’s foundation, traces its roots back to 1958 in the city of Veles. This time, it took place in the historic and highest city in the Western Balkans – Krusevo. Over the course of these 10 days, young people formed strong bonds, forged new friendships, and immersed themselves in adventures, camping, fun, and educational experiences.

The program of the 13th Jamboree encompassed 7 educational and adventurous areas designed to captivate the attention of children and young people. These program areas offered ample opportunities for everyone to engage fully in scouting and aspire to achieve their personal heights, which was aptly represented by the event’s motto: “Reach the Heights.”

Thanks to the support from RYCO, an additional 12 young people with fewer opportunities from various locations in the Western Balkans had the chance to attend the Jamboree. They wholeheartedly participated in networking and capacity-building activities, alongside other event participants. Furthermore, representatives from RYCO’s Local Branch Office in North Macedonia actively took part in the organizational fair during the event, where they showcased the opportunities RYCO provides to the youth in the Western Balkans.
