PODGORICA – The 15th RYCO Governing Board Meeting under the Chairmanship of Montenegro is taking place in Podgorica from 9 to 11 December 2021. The meeting is organized in a hybrid format, providing members of the Governing Board with the possibility of attending it online via the Zoom platform.
The gathering started with the reception hosted by the Chair, the Director of the Directorate for Sports and Youth of Montenegro, Mr Marko Begović on Thursday, 9 December 2021. This was a great opportunity for the Governing Board members, the OSCE Head of Mission and embassies’ representatives, as well as the RYCO Secretariat and Local Branch Office in Montenegro’s staff to meet, look back at the last year and discuss future joint plans.
During the reception, Mr Begović, RYCO Secretary General Mr Albert Hani, and Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro Mr Edin Koljenović used the opportunity to greet the guests, wish successful work to the Governing Board members, and thank the OSCE Mission to Montenegro for providing RYCO LBO MNE with a chance to organize the Governing Board meetings during 2021.
The official sessions of the Governing Board started on Friday, 10 December when Mr Begović welcomed the Governing Board members being in Podgorica, and those following the meeting remotely. Moreover, he took a chance to express his appreciation for the RYCO initiative, and strong support for the process of youth regional cooperation.
Mr Hani recalled the challenges RYCO was facing during the previous year. He emphasized that even though the COVID-19 pandemic prevented many activities from happening in 2021, the LBO MNE team has given a great support for the organization of the Governing Board meetings.
During the fifteenth RYCO Governing Board meeting, a series of important matters for RYCO future functioning will be discussed, leading to more operational organization that will be able to provide even more opportunities for youth across the region.
