EU-WB-SI Summer Camp brought together 6 student networks from WB6

Budva, Montenegro – The EU Western Balkan Students Integration Summer Camp, a 3-day event consisting of workshops and training sessions, was organized in Budva, Montenegro from 19 to 21 July. The summer camp brought together over 25 young people representatives of student organizations, the youth Trainer – Ms. Mila Jukic, and a special guest, the Deputy Ambassador of Italy in Montenegro, Mr. Damiano Rampini. This Summer Camp served as a mechanism for promoting peer-to-peer experience among EU Student Organizations in WB6, as a ground for future cooperation prospects in the region.

The event was opened by Ms. Megi Ruka – Project Coordinator, who expressed her gratitude for all the student teams that joined the project and for the dedicated work they will put in during the implementation of the EU-WB-SI project. She went further saying: “RYCO itself has a very important role in acting as the bridge for supporting long-term cooperation between young people in WB6”

The event was greeted further by Mr. Damiano Rampini, who in his introductory speech emphasized the importance of such activities and organizations where ideas and views of young people are being heard, as well as the importance of fruitful cooperation established between RYCO and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Moreover, Ms. Bojana Bulatović – Director of Programs at RYCO, during the closing ceremony recognized and highlighted RYCO’s role in ensuring sustainable peaceful societies and building safe communities through the active involvement of young people.

During the three-day event, student teams had the opportunity to closely work with each other in a series of workshop sessions led by Ms. Mila Jukic in exploring “Project Management and Fundraising skills” and also developing their project ideas that the six regional student networks including Erasmus Student Network (ESN), United Nations Association (UNA), International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), Electrical Engineering Students’ European Association (EESTEC), International Association of Students in Economics and Business (AIESEC) and The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) will implement in the future in the framework of EU Western Balkans Students Integration Project.

As a next step, all the student teams of WB6 will have the possibility to organize different local activities to shape their action plans and push their project ideas further.

Background
On the project

RYCO is implementing the project “EU – Western Balkan – Student Integration (EU-WB-SI!)”, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The project’s aim is to support the integration of WB6 students into the European Union Programs through the creation and development of branches of famous European students’ organizations in the Western Balkan Contracting Parties. This project will support six networks throughout the region, each network will be composed of six student organizations with an overall amount of 36 student organizations from the WB6.
