PODGORICA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša and Local Branch Officer in Montenegro Mr Edin Koljenović met the Head of the EU Delegation in Montenegro Mr Aivo Orav on Tuesday, 19 December, when they discussed the importance of RYCO for the region as well as the support of the EU for its work.
Mr Blanuša expressed gratitude for the support provided by the EU to the Regional Youth Cooperation Office. He emphasized that the EU support was significant throughout the process of the RYCO establishment but also today when the office is fully operational and started its work. He highlighted the importance of the partnership through the contribution that the European Commission will provide to the overall RYCO budget and pointed out that RYCO hopes that this support will be more significant in the coming period.
Mr Orav expressed his opinion that the Western Balkan should certainly have a mechanism that has the potential to strongly contribute to the reconciliation process and that the EU is obviously there to support it and that this chance should be used.
Mr Koljenović emphasized the importance of the partnership with the EU Delegation in Montenegro, especially bearing in mind the importance of the Delegation and the EC for the process of overall reforms of the Montenegrin society.
