RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro organized a three-day Intercultural Youth Eco Camp in cooperation with the local NGO from the north- Euromost, for the fourth year in a row. The Camp took place in Gusinje (valley Vusanje, Prokletije) and Plav, 9-11 August 2023, gathering more than 50 young people from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Camp aimed to increase intercultural understanding through shared outdoor activities. It provided a chance for young people to connect, socialize, learn, and build friendships while enjoying nature and diverse experiences.
Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro- Mr Edin Koljenović underlined the vital role of young people and cooperation. He emphasized how the energy and ideas of the youth can create stronger bonds between communities, leading to a more connected and prosperous region.
“The themes of the Camp go beyond promoting ecological values and good environmental practices, they also intertwine with intercultural goals, serving as a cornerstone for regional cooperation,” Mr Koljenović highlighted.
In the heart of nature’s splendor, the Camp buzzed with life. Guided walks, insightful discussions, workshops and lively interactions filled the days. New friendships are formed, and fresh perspectives were gained, all while surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Vusanje.
