PODGORICA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša and RYCO Local Branch Officer in Montenegro Mr Edin Koljenović met with Prime Minister of Montenegro Mr Duško Marković, Montenegrin Minister of Sports Mr Nikola Janović and Ministry’s Director of Youth Directorate Mr Nenad Koprivica on Thursday in Podgorica.
Mr Blanuša pointed out that the Government of Montenegro expressed a clear commitment to support RYCO from the very beginning of its establishment, and it continued doing so after the Agreement on Establishment of RYCO was signed in Paris by providing all necessary conditions for the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro to be fully operational.
RYCO Secretary General emphasized very good communication with the Ministry of Sports, but also with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the French and German embassies in Montenegro. He commended the cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Montenegro with which the RYCO LBO in Montenegro plans a series of activities in the upcoming period.
Mr Marković pointed out that Montenegro has supported the work of RYCO from the very beginning, but that now he sees the room for this cooperation and support to be fostered and expanded. He underlined that the results of RYCO’s work are more than visible in this short time period and that this is an encouragement for the upcoming period.
Montenegrin Prime Minister pointed out a number of initiatives initiated by the Government of Montenegro on the regional level, where he sees the possibility for synergies and involvement of RYCO in order to achieve better results when it comes to youth cooperation and youth policy in the Western Balkans.
