Open Call: Understanding Across Languages and Borders

SERBIA/KOSOVO* – Supported through the second RYCO Open Call for Project Proposals, co-financed by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, the GAIA Kosovo and CK13 Novi Sad are announcing an open invitation for participants from Serbia and Kosovo for Camp of creative writing and translating, which will be held on Fruška Gora mountain from 12th until 21st April 2020.

The project aims to enhance the role of youth in building and promoting dialogue and understanding between Serbia and Kosovo through intercultural cooperation between young writers and poets who will work together on the creation and translation of their literary works to obtain a bilingual monograph.

In that matter, the camp will host 12 participants (6 from Kosovo and 6 from Serbia) who write poetry. The work will consist of creative writing workshops with a joint translation of poetry.

Participants should be:

  • Writing in Serbian or Albanian language
  • Between 18 and 30 years old
  • Able to attend the Camp from the beginning to the end
  • Ready for teamwork
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Having at least 5 written poems
