SKOPJE – Head of the RYCO Local Branch in North Macedonia Mr. Vladimir Gjorgjevski, together with RYCO Program Officer Ms. Sherife Ismaili Kasapi, met the Director of Youth Card Association (EYCA) Mr. Manel Sanchez, Advisor for Youth Policy in the Office of Prime Minister in North Macedonia Mr. Gjorgji Tasev, and President of non-governmental organization Youth Alliance Krushevo Mr. Metodija Stojceski, on Monday August 22, 2022.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss on-going activities and potential cooperation between the EYCA and RYCO.
During the meeting, Mr. Sanchez presented the European Youth Card Association which is made by 40 member organizations’ that reach 8,2 million young people across Europe. Opportunities offered through a network of services, discounts, and other benefits, the European Youth Card encourages young people to be mobile, and aware of their opportunities and role in society by empowering them to be active actors in their communities.
Mr. Gjorgjevski presented the key achievements of the RYCO in the field of youth mobility and cooperation, as well as the ongoing regional and local programmes and activities that are in the focus of RYCO in Western Balkan and in North Macedonia. He emphasized the ongoing Western Balkans School Exchange Scheme – RYCO Superschools as a great opportunity to promote youth mobility in Western Balkan. Mr. Gjorgjevski underlined that there is a considerable need to promote youth mobility opportunities in Western Balkan and that RYCO is interested to cooperate in the future with EYCA in projects that meet the joint interests.
The meeting was concluded with a joint agreement for a roadmap with future steps of cooperation between RYCO and EYCA.
