A meeting at RYCO’s Head Office in Tirana provided a opportunity to strengthen cooperation between RYCO and the Austrian Embassy. Ambassador of Austria to Albania, H.E. Monika Zach, met with RYCO Secretary General Albert Hani and Head of the Local Branch Office Kreshnik Loka to discuss ongoing collaboration and explore new ways to empower young people across the region.
The discussions focused on shared priorities and potential joint initiatives that could further RYCO’s mission of fostering reconciliation, cooperation, and youth engagement. Ambassador Zach expressed her support for the organization’s work, emphasizing the importance of investing in young people as a driving force for positive change.
During the meeting, SG Hani presented key RYCO programs designed to equip youth with essential skills through education, leadership training, cultural exchange, and community engagement. These initiatives have played a vital role in promoting dialogue and cooperation among young people in the region, and Ambassador Zach reaffirmed her commitment to supporting such efforts.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to honor Ambassador Zach with a token of appreciation as part of RYCO’s initiative to recognize individuals and institutions that have significantly contributed to its mission. Launched by SG Hani, this initiative acknowledges those who have played a key role in supporting RYCO’s efforts in peacebuilding and regional cooperation. Ambassador Zach received this recognition through the “RYCOgnized Friend of RYCO” medallion and a personalized “RYCOgnition” Certificate, highlighting her contributions to youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and regional collaboration.
Beyond formal discussions, the meeting reinforced the shared vision of building bridges between young people through cultural and educational exchanges. With a strong foundation of collaboration, both institutions remain committed to expanding opportunities for youth and fostering lasting regional connections.
As RYCO and the Austrian Embassy continue their partnership, the visit underscored the importance of international cooperation in creating meaningful and lasting opportunities for young people, one conversation, one program, and one initiative at a time.
