TIRANA – On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, RYCO hosted a reception* for its partners, stakeholders and friends, which took place in Tirana, on Wednesday, 7 July.
The event was addressed by Deputy Minister at Ministry of Education and Sports of Albania Mr Oltion Rumbullaku, Youth Representative of Albania in the RYCO Governing Board Ms Franceska Muço, Deputy Mayor of Tirana Ms Anuela Ristani, Young Participant in RYCO supported programs Fiona Dinollari and RYCO Secretary General Mr Albert Hani.
While thanking partners and friends for their support, Mr Hani reiterated the importance of joint efforts made by friends, partners, and staff and concluded that based on its mandate, RYCO will continue working for a better and prosperous Western Balkans where youth and their potential thrive.
“RYCO has made a number of successes in our first five years, but I want to ask all of you present here today to join our forces together so that we can make even bigger results all with one aim – to make the dream of young people come true, the dream of peaceful and prosperous Western Balkans,” the RYCO Secretary General underlined.
After the opening addresses, members and representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions, international missions and organizations, as well as young people with whom RYCO has collaborated throughout these years, exchanged on achievements and opportunities for the Western Balkans and its youth.
RYCO wants to thank everyone who has contributed to our work over the past years, supporting us in connecting youth from the region and providing them with new opportunities for cooperation, peacebuilding and reconciliation.
The Agreement on the Establishment of RYCO was signed by the Western Balkans 6 Prime Ministers on 4 July 2016 in Paris. Since its establishment, RYCO has supported over 110 projects with over 3,000,000 Euros. So far, more than 10,000 young people took part in these projects implemented by 326 civil society organizations and high schools from the region.
