RYCO in North Macedonia Close Partner for Implementation of French Presidency of Council of EU’s Activities

SKOPJE – Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in North Macedonia Mr Vladimir Gjorgjevski took part in the presentation of the priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the period January-June 2022.

The priorities of the French EU Presidency which were presented by Ambassador of France in North Macedonia Mr Cyrille Baumgartner are outlined in the three areas – a more sovereign Europe, a new European model for growth, and a humane Europe.

These priorities follow on from the achievements of the Slovenian Presidency and are in line with the broader programme of the trio of presidencies co-developed with the upcoming Czech and Swedish presidencies.

Mr Baumgartner also presented the big spectrum of local activities in North Macedonia which the French Embassy will be implementing in the following period and underlined the close cooperation with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office in matters related to youth.

Both the EU Ambassador in North Macedonia Mr David Geer and the French Ambassador underlined that the place of North Macedonia is in the European Union. They also encourage North Macedonia and Bulgaria to continue with the efforts to solve the mutual questions in order to be able to open the negotiation process with North Macedonia.
