RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia and OSCE Mission to Serbia improve capacities of WB6 teachers to provide quality mentorship before and after an exchange

WESTERN BALKANS – RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia and OSCE Mission to Serbia successfully organised second meetup in 2022, part of a serial #AmongRYCOfriends, which took place on Thursday, 13 October 2022, at 12 o’clock via Zoom.

The meet up called “You(th) will never walk alone” gathered around 90 teachers from WB6 who wanted to learn why and how to support young people before and after a youth exchange in order to enrich their intercultural and learning experience. The event was designed to provide practical information, tips and tricks, on how to provide quality mentorship for the young people by designing and organising before and after exchange activities and support.

During the meet up teachers, Mr Ratomir Savić and Ms Amila Beširović, and Mr Ilhan Banda, young person, from the First cycle of the Superschools program shared their personal experience on the importance of before and after activities for the overall quality and satisfaction with mobility. In addition, Ms Silvia Dervishi from Beyond Barriers shared experience from the CSO sector and provided concrete advice on how to organise quality before and after support. Finally, on behalf of RYCO Ms Bojana Zimonjić from LBO in Serbia, spoke on importance of before and after activities for RYCO funded programs, and Ms Bojana Lalatović from LBO in Montenegro, presented a hand out called “QUALITY MOBILITY: Before and after mobility” which was designed by RYCO to provide quality exchange experience.

The meetup was moderated by Ms Mirela Rajković, independent consultant and trainer.

The series of meet ups #AmongRYCOfriends, which started in 2021 and will take place throughout 2022 as well, aims to offer an informal dialogue venue on issues that truly matter to civil society organisations and secondary schools aspiring to advance regional youth cooperation. It is organized with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
