SARAJEVO – On 11th of October 2022, Regional Youth Cooperation Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a visit to the school for blind and visually impaired children. The GIZ officials, Dr. Michaela Baur, the director for Europe, Mediterranean and Central Asia, and Mr. Daniel Passon, Head of Division visited the school as part their visit to the Western Balkan. They were welcomed by Ms. Sandra Čule, Head of Local Branch office and Ms. Ivana Antonijević, Superschools Project Manager, together with Mr. Dragan Kecman the school director. In addition to the guests and project staff, the program included more than 20 young people, which have been participating in Superschools activities.
Ms. Čule, has introduced the guests and provided a short summary of the Superschools project. After the speech the children from the school orchestra had a short musical and literal performance for the visitors after which the headmaster has gifted Dr. Baur and Mr. Passon with the artwork of the children as a token of gratitude for the given opportunities. The program continued with the speech of Ms. Antonijević sharing the experience and good practices learned and developed through first cycle, focusing on the impact it had on everyone which was later supported by short testimonies provided by students who have attended the project.
For the end of the visit, the guests were given a tour of the school in which everyone had the chance to share their impressions of this rather emotional and very insightful visit, as well as to discuss on undertaking further actions to support children and provide them with more and better opportunities.
