BELGRADE – RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia has organized two capacity building trainings for representatives of forty secondary schools, potential RYCO beneficiaries, where they had a chance to strengthen their capacities in developing project design in the areas of youth mobility, cooperation, and activism. The trainings took place on 24 – 27 September at Srebrno jezero and 1 – 4 October in Vrnjačka Banja.
The First training organized with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia gathered 18 secondary school representatives. Due to the great interest in the training, the RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia had decided to organize the Second training where 22 secondary school representatives gathered. RYCO is especially pleased by the fact that the trainings were attended by secondary schools that are working with young people from vulnerable groups in developing municipalities.
The four-day trainings were designed in a way to ensure potential RYCO beneficiaries are equipped with the necessary skills and information to apply for the RYCO open calls, but also get a better understanding of the concepts on which RYCO’s priorities are based such as reconciliation, dealing with the past, and intercultural learning and dialogue.
Participants in both trainings were greatly satisfied with the outcomes. They stated their increased motivation for applying for the opportunities RYCO is providing. They also praised the tailor-made methodology used by the trainers to meet participants’ level of knowledge of project design and emphasized the importance of such trainings for ensuring the quality of future project proposals. Finally, they expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn more about intercultural learning since for most of them this was the first time they got to look deeper into the concept.
