RYCO Signs Memorandum of Understanding with National Youth Congress of Albania

TIRANA – The Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) and the National Youth Congress of Albania (NYC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27 October, and made a significant step forward in mutual recognition and cooperation. The MoU was signed by the RYCO Secretary General Mr Albert Hani and the Secretary General of NYC Ms Dafina Peci.

NYC is a youth umbrella organization established in March 2013 in Tirana with the aim of mobilizing youth organizations and those working with youth to strengthen the role of young people in society, highlight youth issues as well as advocate for solving them. 

RYCO, its Local Branch Office in Albania and NYC have been maintaining good relationships and cooperation since the establishment of RYCO. In addition, the RYCO Local Branch Office in Albania and NYC have continuously cooperated on various occasions and initiatives aiming to connect, empower and bring together the youth of Albania.

During the signing of the MoU, it was emphasized that youth cooperation, mobility and empowerment will remain the focus of the future partnership between RYCO and the NYC with even more joint efforts invested.

“Our joint work and cooperation have taught us that everything we create, we co-create together. I am happy to sign this MoU as we reaffirm a mutual commitment to strengthening our contribution in the youth sector,” Ms Peci underlined in her remarks. 

Mr Hani recalled the important contribution and support of the NYC from the establishment of RYCO, emphasizing that the NYC is an important friend and partner of RYCO in its journey. 

“I am proud that we are stepping ahead to stronger cooperation and join forces in our work for youth,” Mr Hani concluded.

RYCO and NYC share the same values and principles concerning youth participation and youth empowerment. Both parties have been promoting and supporting the active participation of youth in decision-making processes as well as strengthening the capacities of young people and other relevant stakeholders.
