On 12 February 2026, students of the Gymnasium of Mostar visited their peers at the British Gymnasium of Technology (BGT) in Pristina as part of the EU and Germany co-funded Superschools exchange program and its “Green Code: Youth for Climate and Tech Cooperation” initiative.
The RYCO and GIZ Kosovo-implemented program brings together 26 students from both cities to strengthen cooperation, build mutual understanding, and jointly explore how new technology can contribute to address environmental challenges.
Addressing the students, Hubert Perr, Head of Cooperation at the EU in Kosovo said, “I admire your determination to be part of this exchange, to work together with peers from the region, and to tackle environmental problems with technology. These activities strengthen regional ties and contribute to peace and mutual trust.”
Acting Head of RYCO’s Pristina Branch Office Dardana Fetahu shared her message: “Dear students, please remember that behind this meeting and collaboration of yours, there is a mission behind. We want you to work together, as we truly believe that when you meet and see how similar you are, the stereotypes and tensions will lessen. I really wish you that.”
A total of 26 students participated in the exchange, working together on projects focused on developing eco-websites, exploring robotics, and designing innovative tech solutions aimed at combating climate change.
These projects demonstrated the power of technology in advancing sustainability and climate action. Most notable projects included:
- Rubik Dula: “The Ecoflare Initiative”
- Vesa Halimi: “Borrow from Your Community, Not the Store”
A symbolic highlight of the visit was the planting of three trees in the school yard, named “Trees of Friendship.” This gesture of environmental stewardship will be mirrored when students from Pristina visit Mostar at the end of March, further reinforcing the spirit of cooperation at the heart of the exchange.
