TIRANA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša and RYCO Deputy Secretary General Mr Fatos Mustafa met today in RYCO Head Office with Her Excellency Mrs Christina Vasak, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Albania and Her Excellency Ms Susanne Schütz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Albania when they discussed RYCO activities and continuation of French and German support to our institution.
After introducing RYCO Team members to the ambassadors, Mr Blanuša thanked the both ambassadors for the support of their governments during the process of the establishment of RYCO and presented the ongoing processes of RYCO regarding the fulfillment of the institution’s mission, such as the first Open Call which will be launched in mid-October. He stressed the importance of youth cooperation and said that RYCO will enhance the youth mobility in the region. Mr Blanuša also thanked the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ) for giving support to RYCO throughout the whole process of establishing and building capacities. Moreover, Mr Musta briefed the ambassadors on the ongoing processes regarding the institutional structuring of RYCO.
The two ambassadors pointed out that RYCO is the only truly and tangible result of the Berlin Process and highlighted the need to attribute a significant recognition and proper treatment of the institution by the governments of the region. They committed themselves to closely follow the development of RYCO as the idea of its establishment were backed by their governments since the first meeting of the Berlin Process.
