RYCO and UNICEF in Montenegro Develop Successful Cooperation

PODGORICA – UNICEF Representative in Montenegro Mr Osama Makkawi Khogali visited the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro on Friday when he discussed the organizations’ successful cooperation with Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro Mr Edin Koljenović and RYCO Project Assistant Ms Irena Marunović.

The organizations’ representatives reflected on the results of successful cooperation between RYCO and UNICEF in Montenegro in the previous period. It was concluded that good relations and mutual exchange of information between the two organizations contributed to the strong positioning of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro.

“The strength of RYCO, as a regional organization, must derive from the strong and reputable Local Branch Offices in each of the RYCO Contracting Parties,” Mr Makkawi emphasized and recognized the importance of the work of the RYCO Local Branch Offices across the Western Balkans.

Mr Koljenović commended the UNICEF contribution to RYCO reflected in the new staff member of the Local Branch Office team, the National Consultant, Ms Irena Marunović.

“We are thankful that UNICEF recognized the needs of our Local Branch Office. Enriching our team with a new colleague that will help us fulfill our mission for this year was essential, and concrete results of this engagement have already been visible,” Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro underlined.

During the meeting, future cooperation models have been discussed – Mr Makkawi pointed out that it is crucial that RYCO contributes to the UNICEF strategic planning process. The interlocutors agreed that connecting active young individuals from different RYCO and UNICEF programs and activities are of great importance, benefiting both organizations, especially the youth.
