WESTERN BALKANS – RYCO organized a series of local consultations meetings in which young people had a direct say on how they want to see our programs being organized. The twelve meetings were organized on 11 to 21 February and brought together 308 young people from across the Western Balkans.
To get direct contact with the young people, RYCO Local Branch Offices traveled to Tirana, Shkodër, Brčko, Banja Luka, Pristina, Rahovec/Orahovac, Bijelo Polje, Podgorica, Stip, Tetovo, Novi Pazar and Pančevo, the cities where the local consultations took place.
The local consultations meetings were conducted in the framework of the “Enhancing Youth Cooperation and Youth Exchange in the WB6” project supported by the European Union. The recommendations gathered from the meeting will influence the logic and framework of the upcoming fourth RYCO Open Call for Project Proposals.
Through the project „Enhancing Youth Cooperation and Youth Exchange in the WB6“ the European Union is supporting RYCO to create a more enabling environment and new opportunities for young people to travel and explore the WB6, get to know their peers, and cooperate on shared projects in the field of community activism, culture, sports, environment, and many more.
The project will come up with a model for exploring the views of young people regarding the types of projects and approaches to intercultural learning that they would favor in RYCO grant schemes.
