TIRANA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Albert Hani met the Director of European Youth Card Association (EYCA) Mr Manel Sanchez and Advisor for Youth and Youth Policy in the Office of the Prime Minister in North Macedonia Mr Gjorgi Tasev, on Thursday, 4 November 2021.
The meeting focused on intensifying the cooperation between the two organizations as well as on organizing joint activities in order to provide additional mobility opportunities for young people from the Western Balkans.
During the meeting, Mr Hani was briefed on the opportunities offered by the European Youth Card Association, which is made up of 40 member organizations that reach 7 million young people across Europe. Through a network of services, discounts and other benefits, the European Youth Card encourages young people to be mobile, informed, aware of their role in society and empowers them to be active actors in their communities.
Mr Hani underlined that the EYCA is a valuable mobility and information tool for the region’s young people and noted that there is a significant need for such tools in the region.
He added that RYCO is interested in collaboration with EYCA aiming to create a regionally recognizable card/application and various activities.
RYCO remains committed to connecting young people from the Western Balkans region as one of the most important goals of the Berlin Process initiative within which it was founded.
