RYCO in Bosnia and Herzegovina Meets Ambassador of Japan

SARAJEVO – RYCO Deputy Secretary General Mr Denis Piplaš and Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ms Sandra Čule met with Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina H. E. Mr Makoto Ito on Wednesday, 16 March. The interlocutors discussed the youth exchange programs between Japan and the Western Balkans.

Mr Piplaš expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for the implementation of the MIRAI program which aims to bring together young people from different ethnic groups in the Western Balkans and offer them invaluable experience of intercultural learning by spending time together in Japan.

Ambassador Ito emphasized that it was of great importance for young people to broaden their horizons by visiting other countries, experiencing cultures other than their own and thus becoming global citizens. He also stressed to continuously give further support to the young people in Western Balkans, through cooperation with RYCO, including the implementation of the MIRAI program.
