RYCO in Kosovo* Discusses Youth Engagement in Politics and Civil Society

DÜSSELDORF/BONN – RYCO Local Branch Officer in Kosovo Ms Krenare Gashi took part in a study visit entitled Youth Engagement in Politics and Civil Society, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s Office in Kosovo, on 09-14 July in Düsseldorf and Bonn. The aim of this study visit was to provide the alumni of FES Political Academy with an opportunity to learn about the relevance of engagement of youth in politics and civil society.

Ms Gashi was invited to share her views on how young people have been engaged and what their impact has been in the establishment process of RYCO. Additionally, she shared her perspectives on the role of civil society organizations, not only in the work of RYCO but also in the regional youth cooperation in general.

During the study visit, the group met with representatives of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Member of the State Parliament of the North Rhine-Westphalia Mr Josef Neumann, Mayor of Dusseldorf Mr Thomas Geisel, as well as several representatives of civil society organizations from North Rhine-Westphalia.
