TIRANA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša met on Tuesday with Director of European Youth Card Association (EYCA) Mr Manel Sánchez when they discussed possible ways of cooperation between the organizations in order to create new mobility opportunities for the Western Balkans youth.
Mr Blanuša informed his counterpart on the RYCO’s work pointing out that the organization focuses its work on the youth mobility in the Western Balkans. He underlined that the card is a valuable mobility and information tool for the region’s young people. RYCO Secretary General noted that there is a need for such tools in the region, and said that RYCO is interested in collaboration with EYCA aiming to create a regionally recognizable card/application.
“Youth sector in the Western Balkans is becoming more open and RYCO tends to promote new European ideas and trends in the region”, Mr Blanuša concluded.
Mr Sánchez pointed out the key figures of EYCA’s work but also possibilities that the card is offering to the young people across Europe. He also informed RYCO Secretary General on the EYCA’s plans to develop projects and employment opportunities for young people, pointing out cooperation with the Council of Europe, European Commission and Parliament and a number of stakeholders on the national and European level.
“Our interest in creating regional partnerships is mainly in the fields of employability and green tourism, but certainly there are possibilities for cooperation in creating tailor-made, co-branding cards in the Western Balkans”, EYCA Director concluded.
