TIRANA – RYCO Secretary General Mr Đuro Blanuša met on Tuesday with Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary General Ms Majlinda Bregu when they discussed possible ways of cooperation between the organizations in order to create new synergies for the Western Balkans development.
Mr Blanuša updated his counterpart on the RYCO’s work and priorities underlining the need for creating synergies with RCC especially in the field of youth policies. He pointed out that RYCO intends to be engaged even more in advocacy campaigns.
“In order to have tangible results on the ground and succeed in our missions, both organizations should jointly work with credible partners. We consider RCC as one of them”, Mr Blanuša said.
Ms Bregu updated RYCO Secretary General on RCC’s ongoing and planned activities during 2019 and underlined that the partnership between the two organizations should be considered as natural.
“We are willing to start coordinating our activities with RYCO on the annual basis in order to achieve these tangible results”, Ms Bregu underlined.
The interlocutors agreed that RYCO and RCC should sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the upcoming period in order to facilitate the cooperation, as well as that RYCO’s role in policy influencing should be enhanced, too. They also explored the possibilities for collaboration in upcoming events on the European level.
