Pristina – The 6th United Nations Youth Assembly in Kosovo was held under the theme “Youth, Peace, and Security in the AI Era” in Istog. This significant event brought together 100 young leaders and activists from various Kosovo communities, along with 25 youth delegates from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, aged 15-29.
The main event took place on the 22nd and 23rd of May. Prior to the assembly, on the 21st of May, regional and international participants had the opportunity to visit the capital city, Prishtina. They were warmly hosted by the Local Branch Office at the Barabar Center for a Youth Talk session.
During this session, participants engaged in insightful discussions with Ms. Krenare Gashi-Krasniqi, Head of the Local Branch Office in Kosovo, Ms. Dorotea Deshishku, a Governing Board member, and RYCO Senior Advisor Mr. Feras Kheirallah. The discussions focused on RYCO’s initiatives and opportunities, the youth context in Kosovo, and legislative aspects such as the Law on Youth in Kosovo. Additionally, participants delved into youth perceptions of conflicts, drawing meaningful parallels between historical conflicts in the Balkans and current conflicts in the Middle East.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and speakers for making this Youth Talk truly memorable. We look forward to continuing this journey of empowerment and collaboration.
