RYCO and OSCE in Montenegro Organize Two Regional Activities

BUDVA – The RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro and the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized the Final Design and Validation Workshop on the RYCO Strategy 2022-2024 and the Leadership and Management Skills Training for RYCO’s Heads of the Local Branch Offices in Budva, Montenegro. The activities took place from 19 to 24 November 2021.

The Final Design and Validation Workshop on RYCO Strategy gathered RYCO staff and experts from all around the region to work on the final framework of the new strategic document for the period 2022-2024. The participants used the opportunity to summarize inputs received from more than 400 stakeholders who participated in numerous interviews, focus groups, and consultations on the local and regional levels.

“Drafting the new RYCO Strategy is one of the key processes for us since this document will be the foundation of our future work. I would like to thank the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, as our long-term partner and a friend, for supporting this event, and I hope that with this Strategy we will provide even more opportunities and programmes for young people in the Western Balkans,” Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Montenegro Mr Edin Koljenović underlined.

RYCO Deputy Secretary General Mr Denis Piplaš and RYCO Director of Programs Mr Jan Zlatan Kulenović pointed out that besides receiving inputs from different actors, including regional youth councils, school student’s bodies, and the business sector, a quite comprehensive desk review of documents related to the field of peacebuilding and youth cooperation has been done.

In addition to the Strategy workshop, the meeting served as an opportunity for the RYCO leadership to discuss other essential RYCO processes and areas in which additional efforts are needed to be made until the end of the year.

In the continuation to this event, the Leadership and Management Skills Training for RYCO HLBOs was held from 22 to 24 November. This training aimed to strengthen the capacities of HLBOs in performing their everyday duties and successful staff management through a programme delivered by an experienced trainer.
