Call for Applications: Young Voices for a Shared Remembrance – From Memory to Action in Bosnia and Herzegovina

RYCO Local Branch of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with OFAJ and EVZ, is pleased to announce the launch of a new trilateral initiative aimed at connecting young people from Germany, France, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The programme invites motivated individuals aged 18 to 30 from Bosnia and Herzegovina to join Young Voices for a Shared Remembrance, an inspiring European effort dedicated to history, remembrance, and peacebuilding.

If you are passionate about history, democracy, and contributing to a peaceful future in Europe, or if you wish to develop your own project in the fields of memory work, intercultural dialogue, or peace education, this programme is designed specifically for you. Participants will engage in intercultural youth encounters that explore shared histories, including the two World Wars, the breakup wars in former Yugoslavia, and themes related to colonisation and decolonisation.

Throughout the programme, young people will examine how different memories shape our societies, learn to recognise and counter disinformation, and develop their own initiatives that contribute to an inclusive and democratic culture of remembrance across Europe.

Programme overview

  • Two in-person encounters in France and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including visits to historical sites and presentations by historians.

  • Online training sessions on topics such as project management and media literacy.
