RYCO in Albania Discusses Youth Empowerment

FIER – Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Albania Mr Kreshnik Loka took part in the public event “Youth Empowerment in Albania” organized in Fier on 20 September by the National Resource Center for Civil Society. The event brought together youngsters, youth organizations, activists, donors, and public institutions in four panels to discuss on important issues concerning youth.

The participants discussed topics such as transforming education, youth volunteering and mobility, economic empowerment, social and cultural inclusion, and youth participation in decision making. Head of the RYCO Local Branch Office in Albania took part in the panel on volunteering and mobility sharing the experience of RYCO in the field.

“With thousands of young people being exchanged in the last two years through RYCO supported projects, young people are starting to ask more questions on narratives in the region and reshaping their perceptions of neighboring societies,” Mr Loka underlined.

National Resource Centre for Civil Society in Albania is a platform of information and service provision which contributes to the strengthening of civil society’s capacities to be more effective, transparent, accountable and independent actors and to the creation of an enabling environment for the civil society, participatory democracy and the integration process of Albania into the European Union.
