Mr. Gjoko Velkovski is the Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Born on 23 December 1986 in Skopje, Mr. Velkovski graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, where he earned a degree in Economics with a specialization in Foreign Trade.

His professional career has been closely linked to public administration, public finance, labor and social policy. He began his career as a Local Economic Consultant at the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis in Skopje before serving as an Internal Auditor at the City of Skopje. From 2013 onwards, he held several positions within the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, including Associate for Public Procurement Documentation, Head of the Internal Audit Department, Special Adviser on Human Population Policy, and Cabinet Officer for Labour Law and Employment Relations. Between 2021 and 2023, Mr. Velkovski served as Secretary of the City of Skopje. He subsequently became Head of the Sector for Mayor Support and Public Affairs in the Municipality of Gazi Baba before being appointed as Minister of Labour and Social Policy between January- June 2024. Following the establishment of the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, in July 2024 he assumed the position of Deputy Minister. In July 2026 he is appointed as Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth Alongside his executive responsibilities, Mr. Velkovski served as a member of the Council of the Municipality of Chair from 2013 to 2021, contributing to local governance and community development.

Throughout his career, he has completed numerous professional training programmes and certifications in European Union pre-accession assistance (IPA), labour rights, youth participation, political communication, and sustainable transport policies. Mr. Velkovski is fluent in Macedonian and English.
